A size 10 and a size 14 of the same gown are different items with different diaries, and neither is available while it’s being cleaned or is in the post. Generic booking plugins fall over on this straight away.

A size 10 gown and a size 14 of the same style have their own diaries. The customer needs to see that their size is free for that Saturday before they pay.

Cleaning is part of the rental
A dress comes back needing cleaning, pressing, a check for damage and sometimes a repair, and that takes days, not hours.
Cleaning days are held off sale.
Shipping days at both ends
Postal rental loses the garment for the trip out and the trip back, and those days can’t be sold to anyone else.
Transit days are blocked out.
A date that can’t move
The customer is booking for a wedding, a gala or a graduation, sometimes months ahead, and the dress has to arrive before it.

Every size as real stock, not a dropdown
A gown in sizes 2 to 14 is one product with a variation per size, and each size has its own stock, its own availability and, if you want, its own price. The customer sees whether their size is free on the product page, not a vague “in stock” badge that ends in an apology email.
Colours and lengths work the same way, shoppers filter the catalogue by size, colour, occasion and price like any WooCommerce shop, and a dress, a clutch and a pair of earrings go in one order. New season? Import the collection by CSV.

Offer the lengths you actually rent for, such as 4 days or 8 days, at a fixed price each, or day and week rates for longer hires. The customer picks a start date and the return date follows, and popular dates can carry special prices.
A customer can book a gown for a wedding next spring: it’s held for those dates and the cleaning window around them. If the event moves, they extend the rental from My Account, priced from your rates. See the full rental feature list.
Days at the cleaner and in the post, never sold twice
Padding before the rental covers the courier out, and a turnaround buffer after it covers the return trip, cleaning, pressing and repairs, per garment, in days or hours. A dress back on Monday isn’t offered for Wednesday if cleaning takes until Thursday.
The Send & Return desk lists what ships each day and what’s due back, and handbags, watches and fine jewellery can be tracked by serial number, each with its own rental history.
Measurements, deposits and signed terms in one checkout
Fields asked on the product page belong to that cart line, so a bridal party ordering five dresses on one booking records five sets of measurements against five garments, not one set for the group.

Measurements and alterations
Ask for the garment size in UK, US or EU sizing, height, heel height and bust, waist and hip, and make the ones your workroom needs required. Alterations, a backup size and specialist cleaning can be priced options. About custom fields and a damage waiver for dress rental.
Deposits or a card on file
Charge a refundable deposit at checkout and release it on return, or store the card as a secure token and charge it only if the garment comes back stained, torn or late. Card numbers never touch your server.
Signed hire terms
The customer signs your hire terms online at checkout, before the garment ships, and the signed PDF is stored against the order and emailed.
A damage waiver
A decline-able damage waiver covers the small repairs that come with rental, a popped seam or a lost hook, and the customer’s choice is recorded on the order rather than argued about after the wedding.
ID checks on couture
For couture pieces and high-value handbags, an identity document is uploaded at checkout and approved from a queue before dispatch.
Wardrobe memberships
Give repeat customers a monthly membership to a rotating wardrobe: they keep a queue of what they want next, and the next piece ships when one comes back. About memberships and the rental queue.

Can I hold availability separately for each size?
Yes. Build the garment as a variable product and every size holds its own diary, so the calendar tells a customer their exact size is booked for that date instead of showing one stock figure.
Does it handle dry-cleaning time between rentals?
Yes. Set a turnaround buffer on each garment, in days or hours, and that window is held out of availability automatically, so a dress back on Monday isn’t offered for Wednesday if cleaning takes until Thursday.
Can I account for shipping days at both ends?
Yes. Padding can go before and after the rental, so outbound and return transit are blocked out and never sold to another customer.
Can I rent for a fixed 4 or 8 days?
Yes. Fixed rental lengths come with Rentals & Bookings Regular: the customer picks a start date and the return date follows, at the price you set for each length.
Can I take a deposit on a designer piece?

Is there free dress rental software?
Rentals & Bookings Lite is free, with no time limit: a booking calendar, quantity stock and turnover buffers. Fixed 4- and 8-day rentals, serials and the Send & Return desk come with Regular, and deposits, ID checks and memberships with Pro, each on a one-time licence. Get Lite free.
Do you take a percentage of each booking?
