One product type for bundles, build-your-own products and rental kits
Sell a fixed set at one price. Let customers choose a part at each step. Rent a whole kit on one set of dates. All from one Bundle product, one admin screen and one licence.
Pick the pattern. Keep the same screen.
A Bundle is a list of items. An item is a fixed product, or a choice. You can mix both in one bundle.
Fixed bundle
- Every customer gets the same set.
- One price, or each item at its own price less a discount.
- Optional extras, quantities and size limits.
- Items ship together as one package, or each on its own.
Build your own
- The customer chooses a product at each step.
- Options from products, categories or tags.
- Steps, accordion, stacked or summary-first layouts.
- Rules hide options that do not fit together.
Rental kit
- One set of dates for the whole kit.
- Availability is the lowest across the items.
- The bundle’s own rental rates, or the items’ rates less a discount.
- Rent and buy in one bundle.
Sell the same set at one price
Add products, set the price and publish. The cart shows one line with the items under it.
Add products
Search by name or SKU. Drag to reorder.
Set prices
Include an item in the bundle price, or charge it at its own price minus a percent.
Choose how it looks
List, Table or Grid. Hide items or prices on the product page, in the cart or in orders and emails.
Publish
Stock is counted from the scarcest item. Low stock notices go out as usual.
Quantity discounts
The more items in one bundle, the more comes off. Tiers show on the product page.
Bundle-sells
Offer extras with any product, at a discount, with a tick box.
Size limits
“Pick between 3 and 6 items.”
Shipping your way
Items ship separately, as one package with its own weight, or not at all.
Edit in cart
An Edit link opens the page with the picks filled in.
Guard rails
A yellow note on the card, not an error, when a product is gone, out of stock or has no price. A Needs attention filter in the product list.
Let customers build it
A choice shows a list of products, categories or tags. Rules hide what does not go together. The rule tester shows what fires before you publish.
Choices from products, categories or tags
With exceptions and a default pick.
Four ways to show options
Thumbnails, cards, radio buttons, dropdown. Paging, sorting and attribute filters.
Four layouts for choices
Stacked, Accordion, Steps with a review, Summary first.
Rules that read as sentences
“When Frame is Carbon, hide Kickstand.” Hide items, hide options, show only options, or only allow listed combinations.
Rule tester
Pick as a customer would, see which rules fire. Nothing is saved.
Summary block and share link
Customers see their picks with a total, and can copy a link to the same picks.
Example: Trailhead Cycles sells a Build your own e-bike with a frame, battery, saddle and wheels, and one rule: “When Wheels is Fat tyre, show only options Wide saddle in Saddle.”
Rent a whole kit on one set of dates
Works with Sales Igniter Rentals & Bookings. A tent, a stove and a lantern book together, or not at all.
Add the products that rent
The rental settings appear on their own: “This bundle rents on one set of dates.”
Pick a price mode
The bundle’s own rental rates, or the items’ rental prices for the dates less a discount.
Merge the rules
The calendar follows the longest minimum, the shortest maximum and every closed day of the items.
Publish
The product page shows the calendar. The live total appears once the dates are picked.
Availability is the lowest across the items
No date is offered that one item cannot cover.
Rent and buy together
A bag of ice or a backdrop at $0 is sold with the kit and needs no dates.
Staff manage the kit as one
Edit dates on the order screen, swap one item for another, overbook with one confirm.
Extend the whole kit at once
Customers extend a rental bundle as one rental from their account; every item moves to the new return date (Rentals & Bookings Regular).
Deposits, locations, custom fields, subscriptions and quotes
Booking deposits cover the whole bundle, security deposits are charged per item, a bundle sold from stock by location takes one location, a subscription bundle is billed on its own line, product fields are asked once, and a bundle can be quoted with its picks (Security Deposits, Multi Location Inventory, Subscriptions & Memberships, Custom Fields, Request a Quote).
No third-party licence
Rental kits no longer need another plugin to be bought first.
One stock, many product pages
Ten skips, two listings: “Green waste skip hire” and “General waste skip hire”. Each is a bundle holding one hidden skip, each with its own rental rates. Book the last skip through either page and both show the date sold out. Customers see one normal product. Staff see which listing each unit went out as, next to its serial number.
Move your existing bundles in place
Same products, same URLs, same SKUs, same stock. A dry run first. A rollback after.
Imports from Product Bundles and Composite Products, in place.
Detect
Counts bundles, composites, orders, subscriptions and carts. Works with the old plugin off, deleted or on an expired licence.
Dry run
Writes nothing. Shows what maps exactly, what changes, and sample prices (theirs and ours). Lists theme overrides and code that will not carry over, with file and line.
Import
In batches, in the background. Per product or all at once.
Side by side
Old orders keep reading as they were written. Switch the old plugin off when you are happy.
Roll back
The old data was never touched. One click puts a product back.
Past orders are never rewritten
Reports and Analytics cover your whole history.
Integrations keep running
Read-only copies of the old REST field names keep your integrations running.
A way back
Roll back one product or all of them, and reactivate the old plugin.
The importer reads data made by the Product Bundles plugin and the Composite Products plugin. Product Bundles and Composite Products are trademarks of their owner. This plugin is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by them; the names are used only to say which data the importer reads.

Questions about Bundles & Composites
Do I need the rental plugin?
No. Bundles work on a plain store. Rental kits need Sales Igniter Rentals & Bookings Lite 1.0.17 or later.
Will my existing bundle products keep their URLs and SKUs?
Yes. The import changes products in place. IDs, URLs, SKUs, pictures, reviews and stock do not move.
Can I undo the import?
Yes. The old plugin’s data is never changed. Roll back a product, or all of them, and reactivate the old plugin.
What happens to old orders?
They are never rewritten. They keep reading as they were written, in My Account, in the admin, in emails and in reports.
What is not carried over?
Theme template overrides and code on the old plugin’s hooks. The dry run lists them with file and line so you can redo what you still need.
Does it work with the block checkout?
Yes: Cart, Checkout and Mini-Cart blocks, and the classic cart.
What does an expired licence do?
It stops updates. Nothing locks, and there is no telemetry.
Does it rent the same item in two listings?
Yes. See the how-to “Same stock, several listings”.
Sell it as a set. Rent it as a kit.
One Bundle product. One screen. Your existing bundles move in place.
