These settings decide which days and times shoppers can pick, how many deliveries fit, and where you deliver. They are all on the app’s Settings page; click Save in the title bar when you’re done.
Delivery days #
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Delivery days | Tick the weekdays you deliver. |
| Order cut-off | Orders after this time (24-hour, your store time) go to the next possible day. For example 15:00. |
| Days of notice | The earliest delivery is this many days ahead. |
| Stops per day | The most stops in a day. Empty means no limit. |
| Minutes per stop | Time spent at each address, for planning. |
Time slots #
Under Time slots, list the times shoppers can pick. With no slots, a delivery can come at any time of the day. Click Add a slot for each one:
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| From and To | The slot, for example 09:00 to 12:00. |
| Capacity | The most orders in this slot. Empty means no limit. |
| Extra charge | A surcharge for this slot, if you charge one. It is charged once you turn on the delivery time fee: shoppers then see it next to the slot and it joins the cart as a fee line (see The delivery day picker in the cart and at checkout). |
A full slot shows as Full in the picker, and a slot with few places left says how many, for example “2 left”. Places count the orders already placed and the carts holding that slot right now.
No-delivery dates #
Holidays and closures: no deliveries are offered on these dates. Click Add dates and set From, To and a Reason (only you see it).
Delivery areas #
An area is a part of the map you deliver to: postcodes, or a distance around a point. With no area at all, you deliver everywhere. Shopify’s local delivery zones still set the delivery fee at checkout, so keep them in step with your areas.
Under Delivery areas, fill in the form and click Save area:
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| Name | For you. |
| Name shoppers see | Optional. |
| Postcodes | One per line or separated by commas: an exact postcode 62701, a prefix 627*, or a range 62800-62899. |
| Radius (km), Centre latitude and Centre longitude | A distance around a point, instead of (or as well as) postcodes. |
| Stops per day | This area’s own daily limit. Empty uses the store’s. |
| Fee note | A short note for yourself about this area’s fee (up to 80 characters). |
| Location | The location that delivers to this area, or Any location. |
| Days | The weekdays this area gets deliveries. They can only narrow your store’s delivery days. |
| Time slots (instead of the store’s) | One per line: 09:00-12:00, or 09:00-12:00 x3 for at most 3 orders. Empty uses the store’s slots. |
When a postcode matches more than one area, the first postcode match wins; a postcode no postcode area matches goes to the nearest radius area that covers it. A shopper outside every area sees “We don’t deliver to 62999 yet.” in the picker.
To change or remove an area, use Change or Remove next to it in the list.
Test a postcode #
Type a Postcode and Country code and click Test. The result says which area it falls in (“In the area …”, “Not in any of your areas.” or “You deliver everywhere (no areas yet).”), with the area’s days and slots and the Next delivery days a shopper could pick. Shopify’s local delivery zones are not checked here: check them in Shopify’s shipping settings.
Map look-ups #
The planner needs a map point for each address. Under Map look-ups:
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Look-up service | None, openrouteservice or Google Maps. |
| openrouteservice key or Google Maps key | Your own key for that service. “A key is saved. Type a new one to change it.” |
Shopify’s own map point for an order’s address is used first. Without one, your key finds the address; with no key, the stop shows Needs a pin. A key also gives Plan the day travel times by road (see Plan the day).
Good to know #
- A radius area needs a look-up key to place a shopper’s postcode in the picker. Postcode areas work without one.
- With the Rentals & Bookings link on, delivery days, slots and areas come from Rentals & Bookings instead, and the ones here are kept for when you turn it off. See Delivery Routing with Rentals & Bookings.
- If someone else saved the settings while you had the page open, saving says so: “Someone else changed the settings. Reload the page to see them.”
