Release notes for Subscriptions & Memberships (salesigniter/releasesubscriptions2, with salesigniter/releasesubscriptionsrental2 for rental stores and salesigniter/hyvasubscriptions for Hyvä), the extension that sells products on recurring billing plans, memberships with store credit, and a rental queue. It works with or without the rental extension and is sold separately with its own licence. See Installing Subscriptions & Memberships to install it, and the Rental Booking (Core) Release Notes for the rental extension itself.

Version 1.1.1 Released October 22, 2026 #
  • New featureThe rental queue takes configurable products. A member queues a dress, a coat or a bike in the size or colour they want with the product page’s own option pickers. The queue line keeps that exact option, and it shows everywhere as the product name with its options ("Emerald Wrap Dress (Size: M)"): My Rental Queue (Luma and Hyvä), the admin queue and Queue – Send, the pick list (CSV and PDF), the sent and returned emails and GraphQL. Sending checks and books the stock and calendar of that option, by hand and automatically, so the other sizes keep their units. Each option can be in a queue once. Set the configurable’s Rental queue mode as for a simple product; its options need nothing of their own
  • New featureChange the option of a queued item. In My Rental Queue a member changes the size or colour of an item that has not gone out, and the item keeps its place in the queue (GraphQL sisubChangeQueueOption). An option or configurable that is switched off is skipped by every send, with the usual notice
  • New featureMembership products as configurables. Each option of a membership configurable is a tier (Basic, Plus) or a billing period, with its own membership settings (type, store credit, items out at once, sends per period, customer group) and its own subscription plans; a setting an option leaves empty comes from the configurable. The product page shows the chosen option’s plans on Luma and Hyvä. Checkout starts that option’s membership, named with the option ("Wardrobe Club (Plan: Plus)"), and renewals, store credit, the member’s customer group (so member prices from your catalog and cart price rules) and members-only pages follow it. Store credit never pays for a membership option
  • New featureCredit rollover cap per membership. A new optional product setting, Credit rollover cap, sets how much unused credit a member keeps into the next period for that membership product or option. Empty keeps the store setting Unused credit kept at renewal
  • New featureChange membership plan. A member moves to another membership product of the same category, or another option of the membership configurable on the same billing period, from My Account (Luma and Hyvä; needs Allow changing the billing period), staff do it on the subscription’s Items tab, and GraphQL has sisubMyTierChoices, sisubChangeMembershipTier and sisubAdminChangeMembershipTier. Up applies at once: the plan, store credit, items out, sends and customer group change now, the price difference for the days left goes on the next renewal and the extra credit for those days is granted. Down applies at the next renewal. The new email Membership plan changed tells the customer
  • New featureMembers-only CMS pages and blocks. Who can see this page (and block) on the CMS forms: everyone, any member (an active membership on the website) or one customer group. A visitor who may not see a page gets its title, "This page is for members only." and Sign in and Join links (new setting Join link for members-only pages under Subscriptions > Settings > Memberships and store credit); a members-only block shows nothing. Members-only pages stay out of the XML sitemap, and the full page cache keeps members’ and visitors’ pages apart
  • New featureSubscription rentals on configurables (rental stores). A configurable whose options are rentals can carry plans: the chosen option is rented for exactly one billing period, held ahead and renewed like a simple rental, and cancelling shortens the hold. Change billing period prices the option with the rental’s own price, and the subscribe cards show "From" the lowest option’s price and open on Pay once. Once the customer picks an option, Subscribe turns the calendar into a start day only (the plan sets the length) and the cards show that option’s price for one period, on Luma and Hyvä
  • FixA subscription rental that starts on a later day bills from that day. Ordered on October 22 to start on November 2, the first billing period, the paid-through date and the next payment now run from November 2 (next payment December 2, as the cart says), for a simple rental and for an option of a configurable alike. Before, they ran from the order day, so the second payment fell eleven days into the first rented month. Rentals on one order that start on different days become separate subscriptions, each billed from its own start
  • FixA membership’s renewal never depends on stock. A member whose option (or membership product) has sold out is still renewed, by the schedule, by staff and by the customer’s Renew now, and a renewal of memberships takes no stock: no stock check, no reservation, nothing deducted when it is invoiced or shipped, nothing put back on a cancellation or refund. Stock limits new members only. Before, such a renewal failed with "You need to choose options for your item". A subscription that is not a membership and whose option has sold out now says that the option is out of stock
  • FixA free trial grants no store credit. The first period’s credit comes with the first payment, when the trial ends; before, a membership with a trial got the credit at sign-up and again at the first payment. During the trial My Memberships says "Your store credit starts with your first payment, when the free trial ends." (Luma and Hyvä). The member group, the queue and members-only pages start at once
  • FixThe Label column of a product’s Plans table is wider, so a label such as "Monthly, save 10%" can be read
  • FixOn a store with several websites, the admin’s rental queue counts each member’s own stock. The pick list, Send next for all, a send by staff and the automatic send after a return now check and book the source of the member’s website (where the membership was bought), as the storefront always did. Before, they counted the default store view’s website, so members of another website got "Nothing to send now" while their website had units. The queue settings set per website are read for the member’s website too: Send automatically (a Return in the admin now sends the member’s next item, and the daily pass serves each website by its own setting), Charge lost items, the return reminder and the low queue email. Stores with one website were not affected
  • FixThe pick list PDF’s Picked column shows empty boxes; it showed blank squares where the PDF font had no ballot box character
  • FixRenewals made by the schedule or in the admin send the order confirmation. Magento sends the new-order email only for orders placed on the storefront, so a renewal by the schedule, Run now or the admin’s Renew now sent none. The setting that turns renewal order emails off still applies
  • FixSubscription emails always link to the storefront: an email sent while an admin page ran (Run now, a status change) linked into the admin, and one scheduled run that mailed members of several store views gave every email the first store view’s link
  • Fix"Use a new card" also when a payment did not go through. A subscription that is past due or on hold offers it next to Pay now: the new card pays the missed payment and is saved for the renewals after it (Luma and Hyvä)
  • FixWith the Stripe module, My Account shows "My Subscriptions" once: the Stripe module’s own link to its Stripe Billing subscriptions, also called "My Subscriptions", shows only to customers who have one, as "Stripe Subscriptions"
  • FixChange billing period kept the base-currency price on a subscription billed in another currency (one-off charges too); it now keeps the subscription’s currency
  • FixWith two memberships, ending both could leave the customer in a customer group no membership gave. The customer now returns to the group of another active membership, else to the group they had before any membership. Creating, changing and deleting a membership through GraphQL moves the customer’s group as a bought membership does
  • Known limitationA subscription rental on a configurable keeps the option it rented: changing it to another option (size or colour) is not offered yet. A membership option cannot yet switch to an option that is a different billing period; Change billing period stays within the option’s own plans
  • Upgrade noteUpdate the three packages together (composer update salesigniter/releasesubscriptions2 salesigniter/releasesubscriptionsrental2 salesigniter/hyvasubscriptions), then run bin/magento setup:upgrade and the other setup commands again. The upgrade adds two optional columns to the queue tables, one to CMS pages and blocks, one to orders and the Credit rollover cap attribute; nothing to set. Existing queues, memberships and simple products work as before; an item queued on a configurable before 1.1.0 asks for its option before it can go out
  • CompatibilityThe rental bridge (salesigniter/releasesubscriptionsrental2) still needs Rental Booking 1.2.213 or later
Version 1.0.3 Released October 15, 2026 #
  • FixChanging the billing period keeps a rental subscription’s price. In My Account, Change billing period priced a rental from its catalog price, so the choices read "$0.00 every week" and the subscription was saved at $0.00 a period. The new period is now the rental’s own price for the period the next renewal pays for, less the plan’s discount; a fixed-price plan keeps its price. A period a rental cannot be priced for is not offered. Other products are priced as before
  • Upgrade noteUpdate the three packages together (composer update salesigniter/releasesubscriptions2 salesigniter/releasesubscriptionsrental2 salesigniter/hyvasubscriptions), then run bin/magento setup:upgrade and the other setup commands again
Version 1.0.2 Released October 12, 2026 #
  • FixA subscribe-and-save rental opens on Pay once. Subscribe fixes the return date to one plan period, so a preselected Subscribe replaced the dates the visitor came with. The visitor’s dates now stand until they choose Subscribe (with Rental 1.2.216 the plan’s dates are also not kept for the next product). Other product types still open on Subscribe
  • ImprovementWhile Subscribe is chosen on a rental, the price card’s total is labelled "Pay once price", so it reads as a comparison with the plan. Luma and Hyvä
  • FixWith Request for Quote installed, a subscription-only product (a membership) no longer offers Add to Quote; "Pay once or subscribe" products keep it
  • ImprovementOn Hyvä, My Rental Queue fits a phone: one card per product, with Top, Up, Down and Remove on one row
  • ChangeSubscriptions > Settings is one link, the settings start with one License and version block, the Subscriptions menu sits right after Rentals, and the default plans table takes the whole row. "Damage waiver on renewals" shows only with Deposits & Damage Waiver
Version 1.0.1 Released October 6, 2026 #
  • ChangeThe rental queue says "items", not "titles", everywhere: My Account, the admin queue pages and pick list, the emails and GraphQL. A store with its own translation of the old phrases needs the new ones
  • FixSubscription and membership plans on a rental follow the product’s own Also charge the return day (Rental 1.2.214), so each period charges the plan’s days: a monthly plan is 30 charged days, on the first order and every renewal. With legacy pricing a monthly period is 30 days, not 31
Version 1.0.0 Released October 5, 2026 #
  • New featureFirst release of Subscriptions & Memberships for Magento 2 (salesigniter/releasesubscriptions2), our own recurring billing extension. Customers subscribe to a product on the billing plans you set on the product or as store defaults: every so many days, weeks, months or years, at the catalog price, a fixed price or a percentage off, with an optional free trial, sign-up fee and number of billing cycles. The product page offers Pay once or Subscribe, and the cart shows what later renewals cost. Every renewal is an ordinary Magento order: cron picks up what is due every five minutes and charges the saved card, and offline methods create renewal orders that wait for payment. Works on simple, virtual, downloadable, configurable and bundle products. See Installing Subscriptions & Memberships
  • New featureFailed payments and reminders. A declined renewal is retried on the days you set; a hard decline (stolen, closed or invalid card) stops the retries and asks for a new card, and when every retry has failed the subscription goes on hold or is cancelled, as you choose. Payments that need the customer to confirm them get their own email. Reminders go out before a renewal (every plan or yearly plans only), before a trial ends and when the saved card expires. Twelve email templates in all
  • New featureCustomer self-service in My Account: skip the next renewal, pause for a number of billing periods, renew now, change the billing period, change the saved card or pay with a new one, add products to the next renewal, swap a product for another option, and cancel in two steps with a reason and the retention offers you switch on (pause instead, skip, a longer cheaper plan or a one-time discount). Cancellations can end at the paid-through date and be undone until then
  • New featureA Subscriptions menu in the admin: a grid with bulk pause, resume, cancel and renew, a page per subscription (items, payment, addresses, orders, schedule and attempts, activity), moving the next billing date, creating a subscription by hand, the Renewals Log with Due now and Run now, a Cancellation reasons report, and a notice when renewals have not run for the hours you set
  • New featureMemberships. Mark a product as a membership and buying it grants store credit every billing period (spent at checkout, with a rollover cap and a ledger you can adjust), a customer group for member prices, rental queue slots (on rental stores), or a mix. Benefits can be suspended while the subscription is paused or on hold and kept for a grace period after a failed payment. A membership can also be sold once, without a subscription
  • New featureRental stores install the rental bridge (salesigniter/releasesubscriptionsrental2) as well. Rental products can be subscribed to: the plan sets the length of the rental (a month is 30 days and a year 365, as rental’s pricing counts them), the unit stays reserved while the subscription is paid, and each renewal order carries the next period’s dates. The rental queue (“send me the next title”) runs on rental stores only and sends real rental units: Queue – Send with Send next for all, a pick list, loans with their serials, scanned returns, automatic sends when a title comes back, return reminders and replacement charges for lost titles
  • New featureA GraphQL API (54 queries and mutations, no REST), a Hyvä storefront (salesigniter/hyvasubscriptions), and renewals through Stripe, Braintree, Adyen, Mollie and ParadoxLabs (Authorize.Net and CyberSource) saved cards
  • Upgrade noteSold separately with its own licence; it is not part of Pro or Multi Source Inventory Pro, and it has its own composer repository, shown on the install page. It needs Common 1.2.58 (salesigniter/releasecommon2), which composer installs with it. bin/magento setup:upgrade enables the new modules, including the gateway modules for the payment gateways your store has. Magento cron must be running for renewals
  • CompatibilityMagento Open Source and Adobe Commerce 2.4 (tested on 2.4.9), PHP 8.2 to 8.4, Luma and Hyvä. The rental bridge needs the rental extension 1.2.213 or later. Card renewals are tested with Stripe and Braintree
