Customers see their quote on a page inside your store’s theme, opened from the link in their email, and signed-in customers also see their quotes in their account. From there they accept and pay, decline, download the PDF, ask for changes or send you a message.
The quote page #
Every quote email has a personal link to the quote page. The link works without signing in, and a fresh link comes with each email. Anyone else who opens the page sees “Open the link in the email we sent you to see this quote.”
Before you answer, the page shows the request: the items and the target prices, and “We received your request. We’ll reply by email with prices.”
Once you send the quote, the page shows:
- the quote number, its status, the version and Valid until;
- each item with Qty, Your target price and Our price, and the line total;
- Subtotal, Discount, Shipping, Tax and Total;
- your Message from the store and Terms;
- Accept and pay: “You’ll go to a secure checkout to pay.”;
- Decline, with an optional reason;
- Download PDF.
The buttons work without JavaScript, so the page works on any theme.
Changes, messages and the cart #
- Request changes: the customer changes a quantity or their target price, removes an item, or writes what they need, then clicks Send my changes. The quote shows Changes requested in your admin with their message, and you answer with a new version. See Quotes in your admin.
- Messages: a thread with you, with optional file attachments. Your replies are emailed to the customer.
- Add to cart at the quoted price: when your settings use the cart, the customer adds the quote to their cart and checks out as usual. See Sending quotes and turning them into orders.
In the customer account #
On Shopify’s new customer accounts, the Quotes page lists a customer’s quotes with their status: Received, Ready, Changes requested, Waiting for payment, Ordered, Expired, Declined, Not available (you rejected it) or Withdrawn (you cancelled it). Opening a quote shows the same details as the quote page, with Accept and pay, Decline and Download PDF. Quotes a guest asked for with the same email are added to their account the first time they visit.
To add the page, open Shopify › Settings › Checkout › Customize › Customer accounts and add the app’s Quotes page to the account menu.
On classic customer accounts, signed-in customers see My quotes on your store at /apps/quotes/my, with what waits for them: ready to accept, changes sent, new messages.
Company quotes for B2B contacts #
For companies you sell to with Shopify B2B, a contact who is Location admin also sees the quotes of that location, and the company’s main contact sees every quote of the company. Each shows who asked for it (“For Downtown office, asked for by Jonas Berg”). Contacts with ordering permission only see their own quotes. See B2B quotes and payment terms.

Good to know #
- A customer can only accept the version you last sent. If you send a new version while they have the page open, they are asked to reload.
- An expired quote can’t be accepted: “This quote has expired. Contact the store for a new one.”
