This is the changelog of the free plugin, Sales Igniter Rentals & Bookings Lite (on WordPress.org). Changes to the paid plugin are listed in the Changelog.

1.0.15 Released October 5, 2026 #

  • New feature“Booked by”: date-only rentals (no pick-up time) are booked by “Days: returned on the last day, entire return day is booked”, “Days: can go out again on the return day” or “Nights: same-day check-out and check-in”, for the whole store (Settings > Calendar) and for each product (its Calendar Rules tab). It replaces “Stay type” and the “Allow rentals to start on the same day as they are returned” setting; a store that had that setting on moves to the middle choice automatically
  • New feature“Also charge the return day” (Settings > Pricing, and on each product’s Pricing tab): a rental from the 1st to the 3rd can be charged as 3 days instead of 2. Rentals booked by Nights are always charged per night
  • Change“per day” or “per night” follows “Booked by”. The “Daily rates are priced per” setting is gone: a store that saved Night keeps it and sees a one-time notice. A product’s “Price shown per” no longer offers Day or Night; a product saved with one keeps it
  • New featureUnified pricing (pricing engine 1.0.0). Rentals are priced by the same pricing engine as our Magento and Shopify apps, so some prices change: hours and days are combined at the cheapest mix, a part period is rounded up, a one-day rental is one whole day, and a fixed fee keeps its cents. Orders already placed keep their price. To see which of your products change, run wp sibooking-pricing diff --changed
  • New featureA store setting, “Use legacy pricing (deprecated)” (Settings > Advanced, off by default). On, every rental is priced by the pricing code from before unified pricing, exactly as before. It is kept for checking a price a customer asks about, and a notice shows while it is on
  • New featureA grouped product whose products are rentals has one date picker for all of them. Once the dates are picked, each rental in the list says whether it is free on them and what it costs, one that is booked out cannot be added, and the chosen rentals go in the cart with those dates. Products in the group that are not rentals add as before
  • ChangeA variable rental shows “First choose product options to load the booking calendar” until an option is chosen, then the calendar with that option’s booked days and prices. Choosing another option reloads it
  • ChangeA composite or bundle rental does the same until its required choices are made, then shows the booked days of that combination. Changing a choice reloads it, dates that no longer fit are cleared with a note, a choice that is out of stock says so, and an optional component left empty holds nothing up
  • ChangeA product’s turnover before now also applies from today: with a 1-day turnover before, the first start is tomorrow (as in the Magento extension)
  • ChangeShop Managers can run rentals: Bookings, the Bookings Calendar and the Inventory Report, including adding, editing and deleting bookings. Data removal, Theme Import / Export and the developer tools stay with administrators. Developers can change any of it with the sibooking_capability filter
  • OptimizationFaster product pages. The booking calendar’s scripts load at the end of the page without holding it up, and the plugin ships minified copies of its storefront scripts and styles (the readable files load when SCRIPT_DEBUG is on)
  • ChangeThe minimum and maximum rental length are checked when a rental is added to the cart, not only by the date picker
  • ChangeIn the order editor, a composite or bundle rental is edited as one rental. “Edit dates” is on the composite’s or bundle’s line and its parts follow it. The new dates are checked for every part together, each for its quantity and its own turnover, and either every line and booking moves or nothing does. The price is what the cart would charge for the new dates, with one order note. An older order whose parts are on other dates shows a notice, and saving puts every part back on the composite’s or bundle’s dates
  • Change“Please first select your booking dates” and the calendar’s other messages show in the calendar instead of a browser pop-up
  • ChangeOn a product rented by the hour, the pop-up date picker asks for the date first and then the time, one after the other, instead of squeezing both side by side on a wide screen
  • ChangeThe sign-up box on the Upgrade page now offers the free rental theme templates (the link is in the confirmation email) along with the tips and offers
  • ChangeRentals > Setup is now Rentals > Theme Import / Export, with an Import Theme and an Export Theme tab, and the screen no longer links to our website
  • FixA rental whose price cannot be worked out is refused with a message, and a cart line that can no longer be priced is taken out with a notice, instead of an error on every page. Each case is logged and counted in Diagnostics
  • FixA monthly date rule or closed-day rule that runs over a month end (“25th to the 3rd”) now runs into the next month
  • FixA variable product’s calendar uses its product’s settings and shows its day prices instead of $0
  • FixOn a store that enters prices with tax, items added or re-priced in the admin order editor are no longer taxed twice
  • FixOn a phone, the order editor’s date picker stays on the screen instead of running off its edge
  • FixA cart line whose rental dates cannot be read is refused at checkout
  • FixThe calendar (ICS) feed reads bookings in pages, and a booking of a deleted product no longer breaks it
  • FixA bundle, composite, variable or grouped product that is not a rental no longer loads the booking calendar’s scripts (on a bundle they caused a JavaScript error)
  • FixThe quantity on a composite or bundle rental is limited to how many whole sets can be rented (for the chosen dates once they are picked), and a grouped page’s rows to what each item has free; a larger number is corrected with a note. Before, a kayak with 2 in stock and paddles with 3 let 3 sets through
  • FixOn a page served by a full-page cache, a composite or bundle rental’s calendar keeps the chosen parts’ availability, and the calls that remember the shopper’s dates (the search widget, a product page) get a fresh security token instead of failing, and forgetting the dates, once the page’s has expired
  • New featureTwo hooks for developers: sibooking_calendar_fresh_answer (what the cached-page refresh tells one visitor) and sibooking_grouped_child_begin / _end (around each item of a grouped page’s dates check)
  • ChangeThe Inventory Report’s “Rebuild inventory cache” button is gone; availability is read from the bookings
  • ImprovementThe product page’s price answer (and a grouped page’s) carries notes, short texts a plugin adds with the sibooking_price_quote_notes filter and the date picker prints under the price. A date picker extension can send its own fields with the price request (quoteFields()). Sibooking\Api::rentalWindow() and Sibooking\Api::quoteMaxDays() are new

1.0.12 Released September 29, 2026 #

  • New featureThe turnover time before and after a rental can be set in exact minutes. Choose Minutes as the unit, or enter hours with a decimal (1.5 hours is 90 minutes); until now a part of an hour or a day was dropped. Hours and days already set mean what they did, and existing bookings are not changed
  • ChangeThe calendar greys exactly the days and times the cart would refuse. A pick-up time now also allows for the new rental’s own turnover, so some times are newly greyed; a return exactly when the next booking (and its turnover) starts is now offered; and on date-only products the days next to a booking that its turnover reaches are greyed
  • FixA rental with a part hour on an hourly price (1.5 hours, say) no longer fails when it is added to the cart. The part hour is priced pro rata, as the booking bar has always shown it
  • FixAn internal field (the line’s stay flag) no longer shows under rental lines on the admin order screen
  • FixOn a screen with a repeater field (the product editor, Rentals > Settings), Update no longer silently does nothing when it is clicked before the page has finished loading

1.0.11 Released September 29, 2026 #

  • New featureIndustry kits (themes). Rentals > Setup imports a kit zip: sample categories and products with their prices and rental settings, a homepage, page sections in the block inserter, calendar colours and labels, and colours and fonts for Astra or a block theme. Choose what to import; importing again never duplicates anything and keeps what you have changed; Remove kit content takes away only what you have not edited. Export saves your own shop as a kit
  • New featureA kit whose products are priced by rental periods (2 hours, a day, a week) is imported with the matching hourly and daily rates, so every sample product has a price

1.0.10 Released September 28, 2026 #

  • FixA rental with Allow Purchase but no price is no longer sold at 0. Its page offers renting only, a purchase of it is refused, and the product edit screen says where to enter the price
  • ChangeWith the step bar on, the calendar no longer repeats the step (“Start date”) in a second line above the month; the month starts right under the step bar. Without the step bar the line still shows
  • FixThe year in the calendar’s month header sits on the same line as the month, in the same size and weight, on every theme

1.0.9 Released September 28, 2026 #

  • New featureStays by the night. A date-only product can be sold by the night, for the whole store (Rentals > Settings) or per product: customers pick a check-in and a check-out day, the check-out day is free for the next guest, prices and turnover are counted in nights, and the cart, order and emails say Check-in, Check-out and Nights. Switching a product with bookings between days and nights offers to update its future bookings, and never double-books a turnover day
  • New featureGuests and party size. A product can ask for the size of the party: each unit holds a number of guests (a cottage that sleeps 4; rooms for 2, where 5 guests need 3 rooms) or each guest takes one place (seats on a tour). The store asks for a single count, or for adults with children, infants and pets (Rentals > Settings > Guests), with age notes and per-product limits; infants can ride on a lap or take a free seat. The party is checked against what the product takes and travels with the booking into the cart, the order, the emails and the Bookings list
  • New featureProducts you rent and sell now show a Rent / Buy choice, with the buy price and one button at a time
  • ChangeRental products no longer show WooCommerce’s stock count (“5 in stock”); the calendar shows the availability for the chosen dates. “Out of stock” still shows, and a product that can also be bought shows the count when Buy is chosen
  • ChangeThe quantity box of a rental is called “How many” and has round − and + buttons. With guests counted per unit, it says how many guests one fits
  • FixThe whole cart is checked again at checkout (classic and block checkout), so two lines, a raised quantity or a cart left open for days can no longer book more units than exist
  • FixTwo checkouts at the same moment can no longer both take the last unit. If a payment still collides, the order is put on hold and the shop is emailed
  • FixVariable rental products keep their stock per variation (or the parent’s shared stock) in the calendar, the cart, checkout and the order editor
  • FixThe product page checks availability including turnover buffers, as the admin screens did
  • FixA customer who retries a failed payment no longer holds the units twice
  • ChangeRental dates follow the store’s timezone (Settings > General) everywhere. The first bookable day, the lead time and the latest bookable day used to be counted in UTC, so a store far from UTC may see its first bookable day move by up to a day. Existing bookings do not move. For one more release, add_filter( 'sibooking_legacy_utc_clock', '__return_true' ); keeps the old behaviour
  • ChangePending and on-hold orders keep their units until they are cancelled
  • ChangeThe order screen’s Booking Calendar box uses the Popup Range Picker
  • ChangeThe leftover code, settings and choices of features that are not part of this plugin (fixed-length and fixed-date rentals, the other date pickers and page layouts, overdue reminders, the Overdue and Returned booking states and the calendar’s overdue marks, early send and return dates, the longer Inventory Report windows). The Inventory Report is a 7-day report. Saved settings are kept
  • ImprovementTable upgrades run in the background, never on a shopper’s page load; they are checked column by column and retry by themselves. WooCommerce > Status and Site Health have a Rentals section
  • ImprovementThe table definitions follow WordPress’s own format, so an update no longer rewrites columns that have not changed
  • Improvement“Delete all rental data when the plugin is deleted” is off by default and needs a typed confirmation. Deactivating the plugin only stops its scheduled jobs
  • ImprovementThe calendar says when it is loading, and asks for a reload if a theme error stopped it
  • FixThe calendar of a composite or bundle product uses that product’s own rental settings (minimum and maximum length, closed days, rental type). Since 1.0.2 they were read from the wrong post
  • ImprovementShopper requests are rate limited, CSV exports are protected against spreadsheet formulas, and vendor reports are limited to the vendor’s own orders on the server
  • CompatibilityRequires PHP 8.1 or newer

1.0.8 Released September 25, 2026 #

  • ImprovementEvery request that changes something checks a security token and the user’s permission first (Calendar Styler preview, add-to-cart dates, shop-wide dates, reports, order dates, booking editor); every value a request sends is sanitised as it is read, output is escaped as it is printed, and every database query is prepared
  • FixRentals > Settings needs a shop manager or administrator. Authors and Contributors could open and save it
  • ChangeThe global availability calendar shortcode is now [sibooking_calendar_widget] (was [sicalendar_widget]). Update pages that use the old tag
  • ChangeThe product’s Inventory tab and “Use Serial Tracking?” are no longer part of this plugin. Saved settings are kept
  • FixAdding a product to an order in the order editor failed with an error, and other plugins (a security deposit fee, for example) did not see the new line
  • FixWhen one order has the same product on two lines with different dates, each line reserves its own units. The second line used to be skipped, so its unit could be sold again, and editing its dates changed the first line
  • FixSaving Rentals > Settings added a backslash before every quote in the reminder email wording, which also broke the “Map to the Store” link. Existing wording is repaired automatically on update, with a backup
  • FixA copy of the plugin’s field groups saved in the custom fields admin was never brought up to date. Once per version it now takes the plugin’s own fields, and fields the plugin no longer has are removed from it
  • FixA product page left open too long asks the customer to reload instead of adding the rental without its dates
  • FixThe order screen no longer makes WordPress 6.9.1 and later report a missing script dependency
  • OptimizationProduct calendars load faster on busy products: only the bookings a date picker can still reach are read, and availability is worked out in one pass
  • ChangeThe unused legacy rental queue shortcode [sirent-queue]

1.0.7 Released September 23, 2026 #

  • FixOn a product offered both as a one-off rental and as a subscription, switching between “Pay once” and “Subscription billing” cleared the dates, so the dates chosen in the search were lost. The pick-up date is kept, and the searched return date comes back for “Pay once”

1.0.6 Released September 23, 2026 #

  • FixWooCommerce never reduced stock for any order, including ordinary products sold beside your rentals. Stock goes down again as normal; rental lines are still left out, because a rental’s units come back and its availability comes from its bookings
  • FixWith PayPal Payments active, the pick-up date a customer chose on one product page could be saved against an old return date, so other products opened with no usable dates. Only a real add-to-cart of a complete, valid range sets the dates the rest of the shop uses
  • ImprovementWhen a customer finishes choosing dates on a product page, the next product they open starts on the same dates (date and date-and-time rentals; fixed-length, fixed-date and subscription products keep their own)
  • FixThe times chosen in the global availability widget were dropped when it saved the dates
  • FixThe shop-wide start date padding was ignored when availability was worked out for the whole catalogue rather than one product

1.0.5 Released September 23, 2026 #

  • FixTurnover time was counted twice in the availability the calendar showed. A product with a 2 hour turnover after a hire held the unit for 4 hours after it came back, and the same doubling applied to the turnover before a hire. Your settings are unchanged; the calendar now frees the unit when it said it would

1.0.4 Released September 22, 2026 #

  • ChangePricing rules and advanced pricing moved out of this plugin, which prices on its fixed, daily and hourly rates
  • ChangeThe Rentals menu lists only the pages this plugin provides, plus one Upgrade page (also the last Settings tab) that compares the editions and offers the Sales Igniter mailing list
  • ChangeTranslations are served by translate.wordpress.org; the language packs are no longer bundled in the WordPress.org zip
  • OptimizationThe plugin’s admin styles and scripts load on its own screens and on the WooCommerce order and product screens only, not across the whole dashboard
  • ImprovementThe report endpoints check the user’s capability and are no longer registered for logged-out requests; the add-to-cart dates are sanitised on receipt; calendar data reaches the scripts through the WordPress script API
  • FixThe bookings calendar shortcode returns its markup instead of printing it, so it works inside blocks and page builders
  • ChangeDataTables updated to 3.0.4. The bundled FullCalendar no longer carries the Google Calendar adapter, which the plugin never used

1.0.3 Released September 20, 2026 #

  • FixA translation file from an earlier version that listed a string with an empty translation made that string come out blank or in English, hiding the bundled translation. Empty entries now fall through to the shipped pack, entry by entry and plural form by plural form; your own translations still win
  • New featureCalendar Styler: the availability badge under a day number (“3 left”) has its own colours – text and background for in stock, text and background for low stock – so the amber “1 left” no longer has to clash with your site
  • New featureCalendar Styler: the number of units left that counts as low stock is a setting (it was fixed at 2)

1.0.2 Released September 20, 2026 #

  • ImprovementTranslations: the calendar and the admin JavaScript strings are now translatable (every script gets wp_set_script_translations), and the plugin loads translations from its own Languages folder as well as from wp-content/languages/plugins
  • New featureSeven languages included: French, German, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Portuguese (Brazil) and Portuguese (Portugal), covering the storefront calendar, prices, emails, My Account and the admin
  • ChangeText domain is sales-igniter-rentals-bookings-lite, matching the WordPress.org slug; sibookinglite and sibooking translation files keep working
  • CompatibilityExisting sibooking-<locale> and sibookinglite-<locale> translation files keep working for the base strings: they are merged into the sales-igniter-rentals-bookings-lite text domain and win over the bundled translations

1.0.1 Released September 18, 2026 #

  • FixThe plugin now stops loading when another copy of it is already running, instead of failing with a fatal error

1.0.0 Released September 17, 2026 #
