With Custom Fields, Damage Waiver & ID Verification, a tour can offer extras: lunch, a photo pack, a wetsuit. Two settings make extras work per guest: a price per guest, and an extra with its own stock booked one per guest.
You need Custom Fields 1.0.11 or newer and Rentals & Bookings Regular 1.0.80 or newer. How to create fields is in Creating custom fields and Extra pricing for custom fields.
A price per guest (lunch for 4) #
- Open Rentals › Settings › Custom Fields and edit the question (for example a tick box “Add lunch”, $12).
- Under pricing, set Charge to Per guest: each guest of the booking (lunch for 4).
- Save.
A booking for 4 guests pays 4 × $12 = $48, once for the line. A line without guests counts its quantity. In a Formula, guests is the number of guests too.
An add-on with its own stock (one wetsuit per guest) #
When an extra is limited (10 wetsuits), make it a rental product and link it to the option:
- Create the extra as a rental product with its stock: “Wetsuit”, stock 10.
- In Rentals › Settings › Custom Fields, edit the question and, in the option’s Linked product column, choose Wetsuit.
- Set its quantity to One per guest (tours).
- Save.
When a customer picks the option, the wetsuit is added to the cart as its own line, booked for the same dates once per guest: 4 guests take 4 wetsuits. Its stock limits it like any rental, so a party of 4 can’t have it when fewer than 4 wetsuits are free on those dates. Choose Hide when sold out or Show as sold out for what customers see then.
